These terms govern your use of sosaarvelo.com and the information published on it. The site is operated by Sosa & Arvelo, LLC (“Sosa & Arvelo,” “we,” “us”).
If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the site.
What this site is
The site is an informational website for a professional-services firm. You may read published pages, send a contact form, and book a consultation on the public calendar at /virtual/ when that option is offered.
There are no visitor accounts. There is no client portal on this site. Sending a form does not open a file, create a login, or start an engagement.
No professional relationship
Visiting this site, reading an Insights post, submitting a contact form, or booking an introductory conversation does not create an attorney-client relationship, a CPA-client relationship, a fiduciary relationship, or any other professional relationship with Sosa & Arvelo or any partner or employee.
A professional relationship begins only if we both sign an engagement letter or other written agreement that says so. Until then, do not send us confidential information you are not prepared to share with a firm you have not retained.
Nothing on this site is a solicitation for legal, attest, or other licensed work in a jurisdiction where we are not authorized to perform it.
Insights are not advice
Articles, the regulatory tracker, and other Insights material are general information. They are not legal advice, tax advice, audit advice, or a substitute for advice about your facts.
Rules change. Dates change. A post that was careful on the day it was published can be incomplete later. Check the date on the page, and confirm the current text of the rule before you rely on it.
If you need advice, ask for an engagement.
Intellectual property
The site — including text, graphics, layout, and the Sosa & Arvelo name and marks — is owned by Sosa & Arvelo, LLC or used under license. You may read pages and share a link. You may not copy the site for a commercial purpose, scrape it systematically, or present our material as yours, without our written permission.
If you send us comments or suggestions about the site, we may use them without obligation to you.
Acceptable use
You may use the site only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not impair other people’s use of it.
You may not:
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to the site, its host, or related systems;
- introduce malware or overload the site;
- submit false contact information, or use the form to send spam or unlawful content;
- scrape, harvest, or index the site by automated means in a way that exceeds ordinary search-engine crawling; or
- use the site to collect personal information about other visitors.
We may block access that we reasonably believe violates these terms.
Third-party sites and services
The site may link to statutes, regulators, or other third-party pages. Those sites have their own terms and privacy practices. A link is not an endorsement.
The site loads Google Analytics, Google Fonts, the Chat.co assistant, and the Calendly scheduler on /virtual/. Their terms apply to those services. The contact form is processed by FormSubmit and emailed to [email protected].
Disclaimer
The site is provided “as is.” We do not warrant that it is complete, current, uninterrupted, or free of errors. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sosa & Arvelo, LLC and its partners, employees, and agents are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of your use of the site or your reliance on material published on it.
Our total liability arising out of the site will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars (US $100), except where the law does not allow that limit.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited — including, where applicable, liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
This limitation applies to site use. It does not rewrite an engagement letter. Work we perform under a signed engagement is governed by that engagement.
Changes
We may update these terms by posting a new version on this page and changing the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the site after a change is acceptance of the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Exclusive venue for disputes arising out of the site is the state or federal courts located in New York, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
These terms concern the website. They do not choose law for a future professional engagement. That choice, if any, will be in the engagement letter.
